A Romantic Walk-In With a Country Flair
Just before her first child was born, a four-time Grammy Award nominated singer-songwriter transformed her walk-in closet with the help of California Closets. She wanted her closet to have a soft, romantic feel that would match her personality, but it also needed to incorporate a bit of country charm and have the storage space for her collection of boots and belt buckles.
To create a laid-back, feminine closet, the design consultant and music artist decided on a delicate ivory finish for the entire walk-in closet. Details such as chandelier lighting helped to give the space a personal and glamorous feel.
Some of the special features designed into the space included a jewelry vanity area to store and display meaningful pieces, and an open wall with a variety of rustic hanging mirrors, which made the space feel even larger.
In particular areas of the closet, Flemish glass doors were installed, which gave certain keepsakes or special wardrobe pieces a designated spot. Flemish glass is a distorted glass that softens the play of light in a space, so the doors made the space feel open and added to the feminine feel of the closet.
The design consultant gave shoe storage special attention in this spacious walk-in. Titled shoe shelves allowed the client to easily see every pair of shoes at her disposal, and a special area highlighted her boots.
Lastly, a functional center island gave this mom-to-be extra storage. Each drawer in the island was equipped with drawer dividers for optimal organization of items such as her specialty belt buckles.
This singer-songwriter had unique taste and treasured belongings that she wanted organized and displayed to fit her needs. In her new closet, she had a space that matched her understated yet elegant style and where every dress, belt buckle and pair of shoes had a home.
