What Raili Clasen Wanted
Sunny, surfside vibes make California interior designer Raili Clasen a fan favorite.
For her recent renovation project, Raili infuses her own home with a style she describes as “70s surf meets Sea Ranch with a splash of modern.” Small but mighty, the home revealed many opportunities for Ralli to get creative, including the closet.
To help realize the closet potential she and her husband envisioned, Raili called on California Closets Orange County to get the job done.

How California Closets designed it
Raili worked closely with California Closets designer Kyrsti Ashmall on a custom walk-in closet design that would work well and be undoubtedly practical for two people, while keeping the design-forward energy she wanted to evoke in every room.
The solution? A custom closet in a neutral wood grain finish that offsets accents in deep blue. Visually appealing, the personalized design still packs in effective wall-to-wall storage for the couple, including shoe shelves and a built-in vanity area with deep drawers. To accommodate the space’s sloped ceiling, Kyrsti made sure to reflect the footprint with thoughtfully placed long-hang and double-hang areas.
Gold hardware, a pull-out mirror, and bold-patterned wallpaper are just a few of the details that Raili made sure to deliver.
The final result came together more beautifully than I expected, bringing both my design and Raili's vision to life. It feels cohesive and intentional with the other spaces in her home.
