A Seamless Transition for
Interiors and Prop Stylist
What She Wanted
As an interiors and prop stylist, Erin Swift provides hours of creative art direction for her many clients and is used to keeping logistics well organized. However, when it came to navigating space for her large wardrobe after downsizing from a spacious loft to a small apartment, Erin needed a professional strategy for making her belongings work in her new space.
How we did it
Amid a sea of boxes, Erin met with California Closets Greater New York’s VP of Sales, Carolyn Musher, to assess the situation. Knowing from the start that Erin's existing closet would never be able to accommodate her extensive clothing and shoe collections, Carolyn proposed a sleek and minimalist wall cabinet in the living room, which would be outfitted with closed shelving where Erin could secretly store all of her folded clothing and shoes, separately. Designing in California Closets’ proprietary CAD technology, Carolyn showed Erin exactly how her transformed closet would now work better for hanging clothing, while the custom wall cabinet in the living room—with its streamlined design and clean, matte finish—would blend in perfectly to look like existing installed furniture.
Collaborating with Erin was a lot
of fun and I loved how open she
was to rethinking storage solutions
outside the closet.
Working with Carolyn was
such a wonderful experience.
She immediately saw the potential
of my limited space and designed a
system that has been life changing.
The final designs are clean yet simple, and optimize underutilized space so that Erin can actually appreciate her complete wardrobe.
