Achieving an Artistic Display for TV Personality, Charissa Thompson
What She Wanted
With a high-profile career and busy schedule as host of Extra TV and Fox Sports NFL Kickoff Show, Charissa Thompson was excited to bring order and serenity in her new Malibu home. To get started, she collaborated with California Closets Los Angeles design consultant Sydne Keller to address her very limited closet and storage space dilemma. Charissa not only wanted to create wardrobe space in the master bedroom, but also an elegant library system off the bedroom where she could display and appreciate her curated collections.
How we did it
In addition to creating a custom wardrobe for Charissa, Sydne also proposed a sophisticated library design that would also cleverly double as a streamlined storage space for more of Charissa’s clothing and impressive shoe collection. Sydne used lighting throughout the open shelving to tastefully showcase Charissa’s art, photos, and notable Emmy award. Underneath, Sydne incorporated ample drawers and pull-out shelving for both clothing and shoes, all seamlessly enclosed behind doors that mimicked the coastal Nantucket style Charissa loved about Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica.
Working with Charissa was effortless. She had a clear vision of what she wanted aesthetically and in the end I feel we achieved her vision for design and functionality beautifully
I always dreamed of having bookshelves in my home. I wanted that grand library look, but never could I have imagined that they could double as storage for clothes and shoes!! My professional design staff at California Closets creatively designed a beautiful and functional bookshelf system that makes a space in my home that had no life, come alive.
The final library look is clean, timeless, and captures the easy, beach-chic style Charissa envisioned.
