When it comes to closets, and any other storage areas, it ultimately doesn’t matter what anyone else has or what anyone else thinks. What matters it that my customers end up with the very best storage for their specific needs and that they love their storage. When my customers tell me that they’d live in their closets if they could, I know I’ve done it right.
I spend a lot of time listening to what my customers tell me they want – it’s critical. I gather details on what they actually have to store and what their budget goals are and I create designs that strike a balance between the client’s wish list and budget. What makes it really work is getting input from the customer during the process and discussing options. This way we come up with the best option for them.
I love helping people organize their lives with design solutions that excite them. My job is to help them do what they can’t, or don’t have time to do, on their own. California Closets is a great company to work for because they truly care about the quality of their products and about the entire customer experience, from the first contact to the completed installation to service whenever the customer needs it down the road. We always stand behind our work.
I love our Lago® premium finishes because they provide a beautiful, updated look that works in closets as well as throughout the rest of the home. They can look traditional, mid-century, cutting-edge contemporary – whatever best fits the customer’s home.
What is one of your favorite spaces to design and why?
I love to design master closets. I love the challenge of incorporating the needs and design ideas of two people into a space that makes them both happy and provides them with great storage. I also love to be able to show clients how much they can really store in their closet when we design it specifically for their needs. My clients get to see what their design will look like through the CAD design software I use when working with them, but they’re still surprised with how great the closet actually works for them once it is installed.
What do you love about California Closets?
I help people figure out their storage in a beautiful way, often incorporating things they never would have considered. What makes it so fun is that everyone is always so happy when they see the finished product! I’m lucky that I get to see that daily happiness in my job.
What piece of advice would you give someone who is trying to organize their home or business?
Think about how you’re going to use the space, and think about what types of items you want to store in the space. My expertise is in how to fit everything into the space in the best way to maximize storage and to make it look great in your home, so knowing how you’re going to use the space and what you need to store helps me tremendously.
What is your favorite restaurant in Portland?
There are so many great places to eat in Portland, and it’s always fun to try new places. But I have to say my long tem favorite is Hot lips Pizza. I know………a pizza place? When there are so many restaurants to choose from? I can’t help it. I’m always up for a slice of Hot Lips. It’s always good. And if you go to the Portland State Hot Lips, you can also get the great iced tea they brew on site. I think it’s the only location that has the iced tea. Oh…….and don’t forget the chocolate chip cookies. Amazing!
