California Closets Connecticut has been owned by the dynamic husband-and-wife duo of Cathy and Steve Brennan since 1984. From 'Screen to Machine'
The California Closets storage systems that we put in your home are all made right here in Connecticut! All products are sourced locally, and manufacturing is done in our Shelton facility, in a true "screen to machine" process.
What does this mean? Our design consultants will use CAD during the design process, and then send those directly to the plant for execution. Because of this, we have a lot of flexibility in meeting the needs of our customers.
Connecticut is filled with older (but beautiful!) homes, with lots of unusual widths, depths, and heights -- and we are able to design and manufacture around these obstacles because of our unique design and manufacturing process.
Giving Back to Connecticut Communities
At California Closets, we believe that it's important to support our local community.
We are an active member of the United Ways Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC ). We also partner with a program called My Sisters Place (MSP) and My Sisters Attic Thrift Store. MSP sells gently used clothing to the public, with the proceeds going directly to benefit The Umbrella domestic violence program of the Birmingham Group Health Services. MSP also manages a voucher system for local residents in crisis.
How are we involved? Well, our designer introduces program to our customers, gives you a tax receipt to fill out, and you can then bag your chosen donated items. When our installers come to your home to put in your custom closet, they pick up your bagged items and drop them off at MSP for you! It's that easy.
Active in the Industry
California Closets Connecticut is a member of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID) Fairfield and New Haven County chapters. We attend meetings, and have also hosted them at our Shelton facility.
