Cathy and Steve Brennan opened the doors to California Closets Connecticut in 1984. They have been transforming Connecticut homes for 30 years. How have the maintained their passion for their work? It's simple - they love what they do. When you are passionate about your work and proud of your service - it shows in the finshed product. Cathy and Steve love nothing more than hearing testimony from their many satisfied customers about how their custom storage solutions have truly changed their lives.
They both come from strong backgrounds in finance and marketing, with Cathy gaining experience at Citigroup and graduating with a BSBA in Marketing, and Steve with a BSBA in Finance and 4 years of service in the Navy.
From 'Screen to Machine'
We are proud to keep industry local by manufacturing all our systems at our Shelton facility.
Manufacturing local also means we have a true ""screen to machine"" process.
What does this mean? Our design consultants will use CAD during the design process, and then send those directly to the plant for execution. Because of this, we have a lot of flexibility in meeting the needs of our customers.
Connecticut is filled with older (but beautiful!) homes, with lots of unusual widths, depths, and heights -- and we are able to design and manufacture around these obstacles because of our unique design and manufacturing process.
Giving Back to Connecticut Communities
At California Closets Connecticut we are proud to be part of the Connecticut community and we believe strongly in giving back.
We are an active member of the United Ways Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC ). We also partner with My Sisters Place (MSP) and My Sisters Attic Thrift Store. These stores sells gently used clothing to the public, with the proceeds going directly to benefit The Umbrella domestic violence program of the Birmingham Group Health Services. They also manages a voucher system for local residents in crisis.
Another initiative we provide is - when our installers come to your home to put in your custom closet, they will happily pick up any bagged items that you no longer need in your new closet and drop them off at one of the above Goodwill stores for you! It's that easy.
Active in the Industry
California Closets Connecticut is a member of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID) Fairfield and New Haven County chapters. We attend meetings, and have also hosted them at our Shelton facility.
