The dynamic husband-and-wife team of Cameron Johnson and Joelle McLaren have owned and operated the California Closets Edmonton franchise since 2004. How do they feel about it? Hear it from them: "We are passionate about helping people find a solution to their homes. There is nothing more rewarding than working with customers to develop a solution that fits their needs perfectly and then touching base with them when the project is completed."
Joelle McLaren worked in various business positions prior to taking over ownership of the California Closets Franchise in Edmonton, and holds a BCom degree from the University of Alberta. She was raised in Wetaskiwin and has been a proud Edmontonian since moving to Edmonton in 1993.
Cameron Johnson, with a BCom from the University of Lethbridge, owned and operated Certa Pro Painters prior to joining Joelle in October 2007. He was also raised in Northern Alberta prior to moving to Edmonton in 1998.

Joelle McLaren, Franchisee
I have a passion for helping people solve problems. I believe that when everything in your house has a place, your mind will be clear and you will have more time for life’s important moments. I live my life by this simple philosophy and bring it to every interaction I have with our customers.
Cameron Johnson, Franchisee
If I had to state the philosophy behind my approach to work, it would be, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Our customers are our lifeblood; without them we wouldn’t be in business. Our customers trust us with their dreams and invite us into their homes. It would be a mistake to treat them with anything less than unwavering respect.
Jennifer Van Teeling, Sales Manager
I feel like I have one of the best jobs in the world. I get to, everyday, help people realize the potential in themselves and their home. The potential for breathtaking beauty, easy storage, and streamlined cleanliness is endless. It's amazing, the transformations that are possible.
Pamela Stollery, Design Consultant
Everyday is a new challenge and I find it very rewarding to meet with clients in their homes to help organize and create spaces to truly enjoy. Finding a place for everything and solutions to everyday needs is my goal and I strive to make the California Closets experience seamless and unique for each of my clients.
Shab Haw, Design Consultant
Getting organized and eliminating clutter is a great way to reduce stress and ease the function of everyday life.
Faye Boudreau, Design Consultant
I understand the value of getting to know my customers. I listen and observe each person’s needs and desires, keep their budget in mind, and work very hard to design the storage system that works for the individual. Listening is the key to determining what is really important to my clients.
Brendan Roberts, Design Consultant
My approach with clients is one of simplicity and understanding. Being able to relate to the client on numerous levels is something I strive for.
I was part of the installation team for three years prior to joining the design team in 2010, so I have a very unique perspective, having now worked both ends of the spectrum.
Jessica Holt, Design Consultant
I love working with people on a one-on-one basis to help de-clutter their lives and maximize the storage space in their homes. There is nothing better than seeing a client excited about a space designed just for them! One of our strenghts at California Closets is listening to our customers, learning about their lifestyle, and designing a solution that fits their life perfectly. Most people have much more room than they think they have. It's my job to unlock the hidden storage potential.
Margaret Griffin, Office Manager
Everyone is in different stages of life and life’s experiences. Through every stage and experience, you need the ability to adapt and stay organized.
Ashley Olson, Customer Liaison
I like to look at each California Closets project as an exciting new adventure in which I get to play a significant role. The process of helping people realize their home improvement dreams can be very thrilling and I love that I get to assist customers from the very beginning of their journey.
Amber Wright, Production Manager
To service a client you need to care about them. Nothing proves this more than the enduring relationships we build with our clients. So many companies end the relationship as soon as the installation is complete, but we are there to assist, whether it’s a month, a year, or even ten years later.
Adam Wilson, Production Manager
Without our customers we wouldn’t be able to work. This is why we want to fully understand what they want in order to bring them something that will serve their specific needs and that they will love forever.
Dave Shaw, Shop Technician
I have worked in the shop for six years. I love what I do, especially when I get creative and find interesting solutions to challenging problems.
Nelson Paz, Shop Technician
Hello! My name is Nelson and I come to California Closets from the Philippines. I have been working here since early 2010 and I am so happy to be a part of this wonderful team.
Constantino Pacis, Installation Technician
My approach to my work here at California Closets is very simple: Deliver a top quality job while being as quick, efficient, and unobtrusive as possible. I understand that you want your new closet system to be beautiful, but you also don’t want contractors dirtying your house for a week! In most cases, we can install your system and be cleaned up and out of your house in an afternoon, leaving your home tidier than it was when we arrived.<
Tim Stucke, Installation Technician
It is a pleasure to be welcomed into your house to help you finish the dream you have for your home. I’ve enjoyed meeting and working with so many terrific people.
Alfie, Floor Supervisor
My philosophy in life is quite simple: Wag your tail; the rest will take care of itself.
