Get Colorful with Your Closet Design

Even the simplest addition of color can brighten up any space and add a sense of style.

But how do you work with color when you're designing your custom closet? From bright and bold splashes to soft and gentle palettes, we've got some ideas.

Rich &  Dramatic

This walk-in closet is luxurious on its own, but the added variations of burgundy on the surrounding walls give it a sumptuous feeling. Imagine waking up every day and getting dressed here!

Bold & Bright

Kids and teenagers usually love a room that makes a personal statement, so adding color is a perfect style trick. In this teenager's room, the closet doubles as a work station and the palette of gold and tangerine (on the walls both inside and outside the closet) energizes the space.

Bright colors can also add a feeling of sophistication. In this master suite we designed, the bold red wall adds a dramatic flourish to the Milano Grey finish on the walls, wardrobe and walk-in closet.

Creating Contrast

Browns, grays and whites are colors too! Normally, they're used as neutral backgrounds. But by contrasting neutrals such as deep browns and bright whites, you can create a similar eye-catching effect to decorating with pops of red. This California Closets media center from our Virtuoso collection is the perfect example.

Soft & Soothing

The addition of these blue Italian Glass panels on the reach-in closet and work station are reminiscent of the sky on a warm spring day. What a beautiful sight to wake up to!

Soothing tones are perfect for a young child's room as well. Experiment with painting the inside wall of the closet as well as the rest of the room to create an overall soft and relaxing palette.

Even soft colors, like this pastel pink, can have a dramatic edge without being overwhelming. A teenager's room can have personality and a peaceful feeling.

Dramatic & Eye-Catching

Colors aren't just for walls! Add drama with colorful accents, such as the red Ecoresin panels in this California Closets wardrobe.
