Designing A New Kind Of Space: The Garage Lounge

There is no reason that your garage can't be the most gorgeous room in your house.

Featured here is a garage that's been completely redesigned and re-imagined to match the taste of the man of the house. The man cave – otherwise known as the man's sanctuary – is a popular new trend in home design. Any room can be converted to such a lounge; a spare bedroom, garage, or basement area can all be used to indulge in relaxation, hobbies, and entertaining. The entire objective of the space is to create a comfortable area to stretch out and be yourself.

Contemporary Men's Garage Lounge

Man caves can include all the attributes and luxuries of an ideal retreat. The ultimate man cave incorporates anything from an entertainment center to wet bars and cigar humidors.

Behind the rugged sliding barn doors you can find a flat screen TV and storage for all of the media components. LED-lighted shelves are a fantastic place to display memorabilia and artwork. The workbench area doubles as a bar with wine storage and a custom kegerator built in below.

For extra counter space, the center section pulls out with a drop-down table leg so that it can be tucked away when not needed. Additional storage is peppered throughout the space with hydraulic lift-up doors that add to the functionality of the space as well as the décor.

Contemporary Garage Lounge

This sophisticated design is accented with beautiful reclaimed black leather belts as a backsplash to the workbench area as well as inset in some of the drawers for added detail. Rounding out the design is a high-gloss finished counter-top and additional drawers.

This is a room that anyone would be proud to call their personal retreat and enjoy with family and friends!
