Amber Wright, Design Consultant - Edmonton
Edmonton and area.
When people ask me what I do, I tell them I’m a problem solver. It is such a privilege to work with individuals in their unique spaces and develop the best possible solution to meet their particular needs. I have served in many roles since first joining California Closets in 2007. Although, initially trained as a Designer, I spent six years as a manager in our production department where I was involved in all aspects of the business including installation, manufacturing and product development. This diverse training and experience gives me a unique perspective and a wealth of knowledge that I bring to every client interaction.
Every time I work with a client, whether it’s a small closet or a complete home renovation with multiple spaces, my goal is to design a solution that feels right. We all deserve beauty in our lives, and of course I want to design spaces that are visually appealing, but that is the easy part. My background in kinesiology has taught me the importance of designing ergonomically with the end user in mind. It doesn’t matter how beautiful a space looks if it feels awkward to use. Ultimately, you shouldn’t have to think about the space you live in. It should seamlessly meet your needs so you can focus on what’s important: spending time with people you care about and engaged in activities that you find meaningful. In the words of Joe Sparano, “Good design is obvious. Great design is transparent.”
